Cost: Pups are $550 until the day of their birth then they are $650 if reserved before they are 6 weeks old then $700 and then $750 at 12 weeks.  We add $100 for each month thereafter.

Anika is 100% Maremma according to her DNA test results. Vidar is also 100% Maremma according to his DNA test results. Vidar was born on our farm between Helga and Rolo. Vidar had hip x-rays and the Veterinarian cleared him for breeding.

Approximately July 19th at the earliest (8 weeks) if acceptable farm with another guardian dog.

Approximately August 16th (12 weeks) or can stay longer if buyer would like for training from mom and dad with food and board expenses $100 monthly.

Other: Both dogs are excellent working dogs. Puppies are whelped on the farm and exposed to cows, horses, sheep, and chickens once eyes have opened and safely traveling around.

Vaccination schedule: 6-8 weeks, 9-11 weeks additional if here.

We provide or arrange some delivery on the East coast for a fee. We have delivered pups to Virginia, upstate New York, Michigan, Massachusetts, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina.

This site was created to assist in determining if a Maremma is the right type of dog for prospective buyers farm or homesteading needs. Click the links to learn about the breed, why we breed, how to train the Maremma to guard your farm and to view currently available pups. We love our dogs and their pups and will do all we can to place pups in the best possible environments according to how they respond to exposure to animal kinds. We have a variety of live stock (sheep, chickens, chicks, horses, cats, and cows ) and offer the puppies exposure to these animals through fencing or face-to-face, depending on the kind of animal and the age of the pup. We also have farm visitors and children that are part of the natural environment on our homestead. Pups are able to be cable trained after 10 weeks for individualized exposure to poultry.

*MyMaremma expects buyers to be fully committed to their puppy. We understand life circumstances can change your plans and we will consider taking back a puppy up to six months with no refunds (owner must cover cost of transport) to re-home. UP TO SIX MONTHS.

PUPS & Cost

We are accepting $200 deposits for upcoming Spring puppies  5/24/2024-6/12/2024. Our pups are health checked by a veterinarian before leaving the farm. They are vaccinated and  also wormed regularly after 3 wks of age.  Pups will be active and in farm training as soon as they can see (10 days old). They are born on the farm and are placed in an enclosure next to the stock (cows, chickens) Our prices increase for older pups due to the increase in food consumption, vet visits, shots and more required supervision/training on the farm. The pups can be shipped for an additional expense for the buyer. Some transportation is available by MyMaremma on the East Coast. We sell our pups at a lower price because we do not register our dogs in order to keep the cost down for those looking for reliable full-blood working Maremma pups. A registered 8 week old pup’s average cost is $1800-$3,200. Our price does increase for older pups because they become more valuable as they age. The pups receive  more farm exposure, daily training from their parents and other seasoned and proven guardian dogs on the farm. They have regular interactions from people as they visit during chore times. The pups receive health care, and are fed a healthy farm fresh diet and puppy kibbles. Breeding Selection

Our dogs are protecting our sheep, chickens, horses and cows at our homestead day and night!  They bond with their assigned livestock staying in close proximity to them. We have chosen to breed our dogs because of their behavioral and health qualities.

Anica came from  Keri Brandt in Wisconsin her parents Poundcake and Tito are shown below.

Anica’s father Tito came from Finder Hampshire farm in Kansas and her mother Poundcake came from Penni Kite’s farm in Kansasville Wisconsin. Anika guards ground and sky and has been in the pastures since she came to the farm at 8 weeks. She has produced to litters of 10 with our male Vidar. She has had no health problems.

She is an excellent mother and provides social and guard training to her pups daily after they were weaned (around 6 wks) until they are placed at their new farms or mature enough to guard on their own. She was a calm pup and prefered to have belly rubs and pats on the head rather than cuddles as a pup. She is more cuddly since having her first litter. Anika is a proactive guardian dog with excellent protective instincts. In less than a year she learned to accept correction and quickly adapted to new boundaries and livestock requirements. She was not resistant to being placed on a cable and housed easily in her guarding pasture while tied during training years. 

Vidar is Sire to our current litter. His parents are Rolo and Helga from our farm. He was a busy puppy, very curious and independent. He did not want to be held or cuddled much as a puppy. He continues to only desire belly rubs and pats on the head. He has always been stock focused and stays in our pasture with the stock watching sky and land for predators. He is able to be cabled easily, is leashed trained, and has had no health problems.  He is loyal and respects boundaries and verbal instruction regarding guarding duties. He has introduced and trained puppies in farm guarding with great success. Both Anika and Vidar can be trusted around children, other pets and company that is introduced to them accordingly. We believe these traits offer the best temperament for a homesteading environment.

Our first Maremma Ragnar, was as a rescue from a farmer in the foothills of Central Virginia. He was not a registered purebred but was noted as a purebred Maremma working dog. He did not breed.

Our second dog Rolo (Below) is 80 pounds, the sire of three previous  litters and grandfather to our current litter. He came from Woodsong Naturals Farm https://www.facebook.com/woodsongnaturalsfarm/   from a registered sire and Ragnar’s sister (photos not available). Rolo was our first breeding male and the grandfather to our current litter, father to Vidar. He also has had excellent health. He has had only one incident requiring a vet visit after a playful puppy injury at 6 months of age. 

Helga is 75 pounds (above), and was our first female Maremma and the mother Vidar who fathered our current litter. She has had no health problems or wandering issues. Helga has retired from the breeding program and resides in New York on a pig farm. Helga (Above)  was from the Sire – Registered Male Benelli Vinci (Below right) and Mother Dog – Barrett (Below left) both from Finder Hampshire Farm. Benelli came from Janice Buttita out of Vincenzo x Donatella. Barrett is out of Bonnie x Ruger of Finder Hampshire.
